Senzeni has very sadly left us and passed away in 2023 but she is the reason Isu Collections exists and we will continue to honour her as we push this project froward.

Senzeni Mathe's mom, Thokozani, taught Senzeni how to bead when she was ten years old. Originally, beading was necessary and then became something she was incredibly grateful for and deeply passionate about. Senzeni told us that she owed her talent and creativity to her mom and the craft itself. It also aided her to study her diploma in fashion design. Senzeni's favourite colours were bright colours with bright combinations.

 

For Isu, Senzeni was a vital connector to more women looking for work and a teacher of the amazing skill. She also worked on a variety of products, including new testing for necklaces and anklets.

She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
