Thokozani Alexia Mkhize

Thokozani Alexia has been beading for 56 years, learning the skill originally in 1969. Beading means a lot to Thokozani Alexia as they have allowed her to provide for her children up until their adult age. Alexia says that 'beads is life' and mean everything to her. Her skill and knowledge in this art form has allowed her to travel overseas. She can even communicate using beads. Thokozani Alexia loves beads in Zulu and metallic colours and her favourite stitch is 'uNhlamvwini', which is a stitch that involves using a single bead until you finish the piece.
